Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply online before travel
Mozambique passport holders need a visa to enter Armenia. Apply through the official eVisa portal at evisa.mfa.am. Processing takes 3-5 working days, and you'll receive the visa by email — print it and carry it with your passport.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Armenia. Armenia does not enforce the 6-month validity rule — just make sure it doesn't expire before you leave.Required
Return or onward ticket
Proof of departure
Border officers at Zvartnots Airport routinely ask for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed or digital copy of your flight booking ready — they check this before letting you through.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or invitation
Immigration may ask where you're staying. Have a hotel reservation, hostel booking, or a letter from your host in Armenia ready to show.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers can request proof you have enough money for your stay. Carry a bank statement, credit card, or cash — around 50,000 AMD per day is a safe benchmark.Recommended
Apply early — no visa on arrival
Mozambican passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival in Armenia. You must have an approved e-visa before you travel. Apply at least a week in advance to avoid last-minute stress.
Passport validity counts from entry date
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you arrive in Armenia, not from your departure date. If it expires sooner, renew it before applying.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for e-visa online
Go to evisa.mfa.am. Fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo, and pay the fee (around $8–$10 USD). Processing takes 2–3 business days. You'll receive the visa by email as a PDF.
2
Prepare your documents
Print or save on your phone: the e-visa approval, your return/onward ticket, and your first night's accommodation booking. Check your passport has 6+ months validity and a blank page.
3
Arrive at Yerevan airport or land border
At Zvartnots International Airport (Yerevan) or any land border crossing, join the 'Foreign Passports' queue. Hand over your passport and e-visa printout (or show on phone). The officer may ask for your return ticket and accommodation — have them ready. Expect a stamp and a smile. The whole process takes 5–15 minutes.
