Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
Apply for a Georgian eVisa at evisa.gov.ge at least 5 working days before departure. The eVisa costs 20 USD for single entry (30 days) or 100 USD for multiple entry (120 days). Print the approval email and carry it with your passport — immigration at Tbilisi Airport will scan the barcode.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must cover entire stay
Your Mozambique passport needs at least one blank page for the entry stamp. Georgia does not enforce a 6-month validity rule — your passport just needs to be valid for the duration of your stay. Airlines may still check for 6 months, so verify with your carrier before flying.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Georgia immigration officers routinely ask for proof of onward travel at Tbilisi Airport. Have a printed or digital return ticket or a flight out of Georgia within your eVisa's validity period. Budget airlines check this at check-in too.Required
Proof of accommodation
Hotel booking or host invitation
Immigration may ask where you're staying — have a hotel confirmation or a letter from your host ready. A simple booking.com printout or a screenshot of your Airbnb reservation works fine. They rarely call to verify.Recommended
Proof of funds
Show you can support yourself
Officers can request proof you have enough money for your stay — around 50 USD per day is a safe benchmark. A recent bank statement or a credit card with a decent limit usually satisfies them. I've never been asked for cash in hand.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory — no visa on arrival
Mozambican passport holders cannot get a visa at the airport or land border. You must have an approved eVisa before you fly. Airlines check this before boarding.
Passport validity counts from entry, not departure
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the day you land in Georgia. If it expires sooner, renew it before applying for the eVisa.

What happens at the border

1
Apply for your eVisa online
Go to evisa.gov.ge, fill in your personal and passport details, upload a passport-style photo, and pay the fee. Processing usually takes 5–7 business days. Apply at least 2 weeks before your trip.
2
Pack your documents
Print your eVisa approval, keep a digital copy on your phone, and have your passport, return ticket, and accommodation confirmation ready. Save screenshots of everything.
3
Arrive at Tbilisi International Airport
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control'. Join the queue for non-Georgian passports. Hand over your passport and eVisa printout. The officer may ask for your return ticket or hotel booking — show the screenshot. You'll get an entry stamp and you're in.
4
Exit Georgia
At departure, go through passport control again. No special forms needed. Just your passport and boarding pass.
