Passport validity is critical
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you enter Taiwan. Airlines check this before boarding — if your passport expires sooner, you won't be allowed to fly.
No visa extension available
The 90-day visa-free stay cannot be extended. If you need to stay longer, you must apply for a visa before traveling or leave and re-enter after a short trip abroad.

Arrive at Taoyuan or Songshan Airport
Most flights from Norway land at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE) or Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA). Follow signs to 'Foreign Passports' immigration.

Queue at immigration
Join the queue for 'Foreign Passports' or 'All Passports'. Have your passport and boarding pass ready. The officer will check your passport validity and may ask about your stay.

Receive entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with a 90-day visa-free entry. Check the stamp says '90 days' before leaving the counter.

Collect luggage and proceed
After immigration, collect your bags from the carousel and pass through customs. Green channel if nothing to declare, red channel if you have dutiable goods.
