Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
Visa on arrivalYou can get a visa when you land in Cambodia instead of applying before you travel.
Tourist visa (T)
Obtain a visa on arrival at any Cambodian international airport or land border checkpoint. The visa costs US$30 (tourist) or US$35 (ordinary) and is valid for a single entry. Payment must be in US dollars cash; a passport photo is required.Required
Passport validityCheck your passport expiry date – if it's less than 6 months away, renew before you go.
6 months remaining

Blank passport pagesThe visa officer needs a clean page to stick the visa on.
1 free page
Your passport must have at least 1 completely blank visa page (not endorsement/amendment pages) for the visa sticker.Required
Return or onward ticketIt's not always checked, but having a ticket avoids problems at check-in or arrival.
Proof of onward travel
Immigration may ask for proof of a return or onward flight out of Cambodia. Have a printed or digital copy of your itinerary ready.Recommended
Proof of fundsCarry some US dollars – they are widely accepted in Cambodia.
Sufficient cash or card
No official minimum amount is specified, but be prepared to show you have enough money for your stay (e.g., US$50–100 per day) if asked.Recommended
Arrival declarationYou don't need to fill in any arrival form before you travel.
Not required
Cambodia does not require an arrival declaration form for Cyprus passport holders. Not required
E-visa optionIf you prefer to skip the queue at the airport, apply for an e-visa online before you go.
Alternative to visa on arrival
You may apply for an e-visa online before travel. The cost is US$36 + processing fee, and processing takes 3 business days. The e-visa is valid for 90 days from issue and allows a single entry for up to 30 days.Optional
Cash only — no cards accepted
Visa on arrival fees must be paid in US dollars cash. There are ATMs after immigration, but not before. Bring crisp, undamaged bills — torn or marked notes may be refused.
Photo booths available at major airports
If you forget a passport photo, there are photo booths at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports before immigration. They cost about $2–$3 and take 2 minutes.
E-visa saves time at the airport
If you apply for an e-visa before travel, you skip the visa-on-arrival queue and go straight to passport control. The e-visa costs $43 total and takes 3 business days to process.

What happens at the border

1
Arrive at immigration
At Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, or Sihanoukville airport, follow signs to 'Visa on Arrival' before the main immigration counters. At land borders, look for the visa office before the passport control booth.
2
Fill out the application form
Pick up a visa application form from the counter. Fill it out with your personal details, passport info, and intended length of stay. Attach your passport photo.
3
Submit and pay
Hand your passport, the completed form, and the fee to the officer. They'll process it and give you a receipt. Wait nearby — it usually takes 5–15 minutes.
4
Collect your passport with visa
When your name is called, collect your passport with the visa sticker inside. Check that the details are correct (name, passport number, validity dates).
5
Proceed to passport control
Go to the main immigration queue. Present your passport with the visa sticker. The officer will stamp you in. Keep the arrival card they give you — you'll need it when you leave.

Frequently asked questions

Yes, tourist visas can be extended once for 30 days at a cost of around $45–$55 through a visa agency in Cambodia. Ordinary visas can be extended for longer periods (1, 3, 6, or 12 months) but require a business purpose. Visit the Immigration Department in Phnom Penh or use a licensed agent.
Visa on arrival is available at all major land border crossings with Thailand, Vietnam, and Laos. The process is the same as at airports — fill out the form, pay the fee, and get your visa. Some smaller crossings may not offer it, so check in advance.
Yes, Cambodia offers an e-visa for $36 + $7 processing fee. It's valid for 30 days and can be used at Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville airports, plus the Poipet and Bavet land borders. Apply at evisa.gov.kh at least 3 business days before travel.
Overstay fines are $5 per day for the first 30 days, then $10 per day after that. You pay at the airport immigration office before departure. Overstaying more than 30 days can result in a blacklist. Don't risk it — extend or leave on time.
Technically yes, but it's not always checked. Immigration officers may ask for proof of onward travel. Have a screenshot of your outbound flight booking on your phone to be safe.
No. Tourist visas do not permit employment. If you plan to work, volunteer, or do business, apply for an ordinary visa (E-class) at the airport or get a business visa from a Cambodian embassy before travel. Working on a tourist visa is illegal and can lead to deportation.
Report the loss to the local police and get a police report. Then visit the Cypriot embassy in Bangkok (Thailand) or the nearest EU consulate. You'll need the police report, a passport photo, and proof of travel insurance. A temporary passport takes 2–5 working days.
