What happens at the border

1
Apply for the eVisa online
Go to the official Vietnam eVisa website (evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn). Fill in your personal details, upload a passport photo and a scan of your passport data page. Pay the fee (around $25 USD) by card. Processing takes 3–5 working days. You'll receive an approval letter by email.
2
Print or save the eVisa approval
Once approved, print the eVisa letter or save a clear copy on your phone. You'll need to show it at check-in and at immigration in Vietnam.
3
Prepare your documents for departure
At the airport, have your passport, eVisa approval, return ticket, and hotel booking ready. The airline may check these before issuing your boarding pass.
4
Arrive at a Vietnamese airport
You can enter through any of Vietnam's international airports: Noi Bai (Hanoi), Tan Son Nhat (Ho Chi Minh City), Da Nang, Cam Ranh (Nha Trang), Phu Quoc, or others. Go to the 'eVisa' or 'Immigration' counter. Hand over your passport and eVisa. The officer will stamp you in.
5
Receive your entry stamp
The officer will stamp your passport with the entry date and the number of days you're allowed to stay (up to 90 days). Check the stamp before leaving the counter — if the dates are wrong, ask for a correction immediately.
