Entry requirements

RequirementDetailsStatus
eVisa application
Apply before travel
You need an eVisa to enter Tanzania. Apply at the official Tanzania eVisa portal at least 2 weeks before your trip — processing can take 5–10 business days. The visa costs $50 USD for a single-entry tourist visa, and you'll upload a passport photo and your passport data page.Apply for eVisaRequired
Valid passport
Must be valid for entire stay
Your Lebanese passport must be valid for the full duration of your stay in Tanzania. There is no official 6-month validity requirement, but immigration officers at Julius Nyerere Airport will check that it covers your travel dates.Required
Return or onward ticket
Required for entry
Tanzania immigration strictly enforces the requirement for a return or onward ticket. Have a printed copy or a screenshot of your outbound booking ready — officers at Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar airports check this before issuing your entry stamp.Required
Proof of accommodation
Recommended to carry
While not always asked, having a hotel booking confirmation or a letter of invitation from your host can speed up the immigration process. Keep a printed copy or a digital version on your phone.Recommended
Proof of funds
Recommended to carry
Immigration officers may ask how you'll support yourself during your stay. Carry a bank statement or a credit card showing at least $200 USD equivalent — this is rarely checked but can prevent delays.Recommended
eVisa is mandatory — no exceptions
Lebanese passport holders cannot get a visa on arrival. If you arrive without an approved eVisa, you will be denied entry and sent back on the next flight.
Keep digital copies of everything
Save your eVisa PDF, passport scan, and return ticket on your phone and in cloud storage. If you lose the paper copy, you can show the digital version at immigration.

Frequently asked questions

No. Lebanese passport holders must have an eVisa approved before travel. Visa on arrival is not available for your nationality.
Typically 3–10 business days. Apply at least 2 weeks before your flight to be safe. Processing times can be longer during peak season (June–September).
The standard tourist eVisa costs around $50 USD. Payment is by credit card on the application website.
The eVisa is typically valid for a single entry with a maximum stay of 90 days. Check your approval letter for exact dates.
If you're arriving from a country with yellow fever risk (including transit over 12 hours), you'll need the vaccine and a yellow card. Lebanon is not a yellow fever country, but if you've recently traveled elsewhere, check the requirements.
Extensions are possible but not guaranteed. You'd need to visit the Immigration Department in Dar es Salaam. It's easier to plan your stay within the eVisa's validity.
Rejections are rare but can happen if documents are unclear or incomplete. You'll get a refund minus a processing fee. Reapply with corrected documents.
