What happens at the border

1
Arrive at Oslo Airport (or other entry point)
After landing, follow signs to 'Passport Control' (non-EU/EEA queue). Have your passport, return ticket, and accommodation booking ready. The officer will check your passport, ask about your trip purpose and length of stay, then stamp you in. The whole process usually takes 2–5 minutes.
2
Collect luggage and exit
After passport control, proceed to baggage claim, then through customs (green channel for most tourists). No additional forms needed unless you're bringing restricted goods.

Frequently asked questions

No, Chileans can enter Norway visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period for tourism, business, or family visits.
Extensions are not normally granted for tourist stays. If you need to stay longer (e.g., for medical reasons or force majeure), you must apply to the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) before your 90 days expire. Approval is rare and requires a valid reason.
Overstaying can result in a fine, a ban from the Schengen area (up to 5 years), and deportation. Always leave before your 90 days are up.
No, for stays under 90 days you don't need to register. If you stay longer than 90 days (e.g., for work or study), you must apply for a residence permit before traveling.
Your 90-day visa-free allowance applies to the entire Schengen area (29 countries). The days count cumulatively — so a week in France uses a week of your 90 days. Keep track of your total time in Schengen.
Not strictly required by law, but strongly recommended. If you need medical care, costs can be very high. Most travel insurance policies covering Europe are accepted.
Have your passport (valid 6+ months), return/onward ticket, accommodation booking, and proof of funds (bank statement or credit card) ready. Immigration may ask for any of these.
